Carls Bhojraj, a criminal who has been avoiding capture from Tihar Jail, has travelled to Mumbai, according to Inspector Zende. A Mumbai police officer named Madhukar Bapurao Zende captured Carl fifteen years ago. He receives the task again, and he and a group of individuals set out on the trip. The only difference is that whereas Carls was a crook fifteen years ago, he is now a psychopath with thirty-two killings under his belt!

The result is a funny but entertaining game of Chor Police. Director Chinmay Mandlekar wants to show a narrative as it is, not as a heroic tale!

Instead of portraying the police as a fictionalised and idealised force, he makes Zende believable—a man with morals and ethics who shows every sign of anything going wrong. However, Zende's most admirable quality is Chinmay's portrayal of him as a man who will never stop trying until he achieves perfection!

Zende and his friends are out to get Carl after he lied to the Mumbai Police and mocked them. However, all goes awry when Bombay Police arrive in Goa with a plot and Goa police have different intentions. Undoubtedly, the rivalry as a whole takes centre stage, but it keeps the plot on track, and in my opinion, Chinmay wins right here!

Inspector Zende Review: Outstanding Performance

Inspector Zende wins because Manoj Bajpayee believes in taking the lead! He expertly blends humour and toughness in just the right amounts. Instead of being a valiant officer who rides a bike, drives a car, or beats his chest, he plays the part of a man simply completing a challenging task while burdened by his personal history. The main topic of Zende's entire story is finding a ray of hope and atonement in a society full of deceit and power battles. Manoj Bajpayee makes Zende look real and realistic in every frame.

In addition to Manoj Bajpayee, Bhau Kadam as Patil and Harish Dudhade as Jacob provide strong backing for this potent drama! When Bahu Kadam's Patil neglected his duties out of sheer fear, that was the turning point! Such a profound concept, so expertly conveyed! Additionally, Kadam gives it a dramatic yet poignant look! Although everyone has moments of uncertainty, policemen shouldn't, right?

Meanwhile, Harish Dudhade's character Jacob seems to be the harsh Cop Universe. When his senior asks him to smile, he occasionally gives him a stony face and responds, "Main has raha hun, Sir." He does a good job at capturing the dilemma of being an officer.

We forget that they are just like the rest of us, even though we expect them to be severe and serious! However, they still have to project a tough, resolute demeanour! Charles Shobhraj, often called Carls Bhojraj, is brilliantly portrayed by Jim Sarbh.
